Stuff like this makes me mad.
Because it makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
Where, oh where, does that put asian men?
See, asian women have gotten a few breaks over the years. Michelle Yeoh got her mack on with Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies. And Maggie Q was Timothy Olyphant’s sexy partner-in-crime in Die Hard 4.
But when will Hollywood cut asian guys a break?
Surely someone out there finds us marginally attractive. And surely, somewhere out there, in Hollywood-movie land, there’s some desperate and dateless white (or god forbid chocolate-y) girl who’s willing to settle for ’sloppy seconds’.
Dave says,
Daniel Henney. If there’s an asian male out there who can fill the shoes you’re describing it’s probably him. Girls go crazy over this guy. He’s not even 100% asian! He’s mixed! Doesn’t speak a word of Korean either, what a jerk.
Why do I seem so jealous?
He’s had multiple photoshoots with one Miss. Hyori. Lee.
(And in fact, he’s STARRED in korean drama/movies just based on his looks alone — he doesn’t even speak KOREAN!)
annie says,
If they all looked like you, Phil, there would be no problem.
Yeah, what is the dealio about that? I think nothing of a black actor with a white woman, but now that you mention it, I have noticed a Latina thrown in the mix instead. I always think to myself, don’t they have vast ethnic differences? And languages? Compared to a black/white couple?
Who’s the guy in the picture? He’s very attractive. Perhaps you could lead us to a data base of Asian American actors?
Phil says,
Annie: The guy in the photo is Takeshi Kaneshiro. In fact, I mentioned in a previous post that he was ranked Top 3 in regards to, “Who would you most want to father your child” by like, a thousand women.
As to your question about the latina/black thing, I’ll refer you to the exchange between Esposito and Cheadle in the movie Crash.
As for the Asian American list, see here
